Current World Affairs

We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 2pm in a home on the North Shore.

In recent times it seems to be that massive disasters and crises are occurring everywhere, all the time. The Cold War has been reawakened, and ‘nationalistic’ movements are springing up and challenging the status quo in every corner of the world. Climate change is increasing in pace, with severe rainfall, flooding, cyclones and storm events almost daily news. Warfare, drought, famine are growing to record levels on many continents. Economic hegemony of the West drives affluence and misery, continuing to divide the world into the super-rich and the increasing numbers of those who live in poverty.

Everything is fair game at our meetings. We circulate items of interest within the group, and members are encouraged to make their own contribution.
